Having seen a story about multiple shootings at Fort Hood, and not finding much information about it, I decided to check Little Green Footballs to see if they had any updated information. I had stopped going to the site months ago, because of its backsliding into leftism, which Charles Johnson calls being a moderate.
So, he did have the breaking news about the Fort Hood incident, but nothing more than I had already seen. I then looked at the previous few entries, to see what he’s been blogging about. It’s pretty sad. He is busy demonizing the opponents of the enslavement of the medical profession. He has become pathetically leftist in his commentary, and yet he still considers himself a moderate. It turns my stomach.
If this country is ever destroyed, it will be because of the moderates. They’re the Neville Chamberlains of domestic policy.
When I hear the word “moderate” these days, all that processes through the filter is “c-o-w-a-r-d.”
The Ft. Hood news is disturbing indeed. And we still don’t know much about the shooters or what was really going on… actual hostile attack or a case of Private Pyle getting revenge on the Gunny Sgt? Who knows! All we know is people are dead.
My brother-in-law lives southwest of Waco, not far from the base. I’ll have to give him a call tonight and see how things are at ground level.
When I hear or see someone call himself a moderate, I assume he’s a leftist until proven otherwise. What are they moderate about? Moderately opposed to slavery? Moderately in favor of free markets? At best, moderates are useful idiots for the left.
Ft. Hood looks to be another case of Sudden Jihad Syndrome; ie an act of terrorism by a Muslim. This makes me wonder if Muslims should even be allowed to serve in the military unless as translators. This also raises the difficult question of how to classify Islam. It may end up being necessary to classify it as a hostile enemy ideology at war with America and ban it entirely.
I don’t think Muslim soldiers present any particular threat. The Marines tend to repel the “undesirables” that the army seems to collect with their much higher standards.
