Our mission is to combat the unreason and selflessness that are sweeping our culture from the nihilist left to the religious right, and to sound a new ideal of capitalism and individual rights in American politics.

Dog-eat-dog competition is a consequence of a political economy, not a market economy, any more so than, say, major league baseball, with rules of the game (rules again fraud, theft, misrepresentation) is dog-eat-dog competition.

The more the left throws their noxious crap out there, the more it shows their own failings.

"The so-called ‘dog eat dog’ competition in the market is actually competition over who gets to cooperate with whom"

Thanks for that formulation Kyle, it's very insightful.

I appreciate your point that dissent was the highest form of patriotism not 2 years ago. A Marin resident is trying to prevent a Tea Party organization from hosting a conference (not a protest) at the local community center on the grounds that the Tea Party movement is seditious. Yes, she actually used that word when talking to the AP. Apparently the Tea Baggers are rebels who will never ever be any good.

You make a brilliant point, Kyle. Wish I'd thought of it! Socialism destroys cooperation among people because everyone is fighting for a handout from the state instead of working together to produce wealth.

There's also the fact that the social institution based on cooperation is... the free market. Every exchange in a free market is an example of cooperation -- mutual trade to mutual benefit. The so-called 'dog eat dog' competition in the market is actually competition over who gets to cooperate with whom, and the government intervention so desperately desired by the Coffee Party types is intended to prevent people who want to cooperate with each other from doing so.

Government interference in the freedom of production and trade is anti-cooperative.

In short, the left's attempt to describe their agenda as 'cooperation' is not just a gimmick. It's an outright lie. Where the left says 'cooperation', instead read 'exploitation'. You'll get a much clearer understanding of their true goal.
